Am I a Good Candidate for Breast Implant Removal?
If, after augmentation surgery, your breasts change as a consequence of gravity, the aging
process, pregnancy, hormones, or other factors, you may choose breast implant removal. The
following are some indications that may call for removal or replacement of your implants:
- Injury, trauma, or complications from surgery
- You suffer from capsular contracture or implant hardening
- You are suffering from an infection at the implant site
- The implant is leaking
- The implant has shifted from its original location
- Your nipples don’t appear properly positioned
- You can feel rippling or wrinkling of the implants
- You want to switch from silicone to saline implants or vice versa
- You want a different size implant
- The lower part of the breast has become stretched
- Your breasts exhibit drooping, sagging or ptosis
- You decide to remove implants altogether
