Sculptra® in Worcester, MA
Sculptra® is non-surgical, minimally invasive cosmetic treatment that provides long-lasting results. It is available at Salisbury Plastic Surgery, located in Shrewsbury and led by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Deborah K. Ekstrom, serving residents of Worcester and neighboring areas in Massachusetts.
What Is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is a dermal injection that gradually provides continuous improvements in skin tone and elasticity after the initial treatment by provoking increased production of collagen, a substance that fortifies and restores skin cells, resulting in increased fullness and volume and a natural, gradual reduction in lines and wrinkles.
Benefits of Sculptra®
The most impressive benefit of Sculptra® is the fact that the results emerge gradually and naturally following treatment, nourishing the skin with an increased production of collagen. Sculptra® slowly improves skin volume and contour in the facial areas where aging and exposure to the elements has caused loss of volume and firmness. Because of its unique thick consistency, Sculptra® gel treatments often produce longer lasting results than most other dermal fillers, typically lasting for two years or more.
Who Can Benefit from Sculptra®?
If you are a healthy adult and have fine lines or wrinkles around the areas of your forehead, eyes, or mouth, you are probably a suitable candidate for Sculptra®. This dermal filler is also an excellent choice for those who want to increase volume and fullness in sagging skin without undergoing surgery.
How Should I Prepare For Sculptra®?
Although Sculptra® is safe and most patients have no adverse reaction, you should nonetheless inform Dr. Ekstrom if you have any history of allergies and other medical conditions, and if you’ve received other injections recently. It is recommended that you avoid medications such as blood thinners, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), including ibuprofen and aspirin, as well as alcoholic beverages, for a short period in preparation for treatment. You may have to delay Sculptra® treatments if there is any infection, inflammation, acne, rashes, or other irritations present in the skin, until the condition passes.
How Is Sculptra® Administered?
A topical numbing agent will be applied prior to the procedure to alleviate any potential discomfort during treatment. The Sculptra® gel is then injected just below the surface of the skin in strategic target areas. Some patients may require more than one treatment to achieve desired results.
How Does Sculptra® Work?
Although the results of your Sculptra® treatment may not be immediately visible, you will see increased improvement for two years or longer as a result of the treatment, as the skin tissue is structurally restored by increased collagen production thanks to Sculptra®.
How Much Does Sculptra® Cost In Worcester?
The price of Sculptra® is dependent on how much product your treatment requires. You can choose from a variety of payment options offered at Salisbury Plastic Surgery, including easy financing methods. The office also accepts various forms of payment.
